London Sights, Sounds and Hotels

The Tower of London is the site of some of bloodiest history of dear old England, but it has served in many different capacities. It has been a royal residence, armoury, observatory, mint, menagerie and place of safety for the Crown Jewels. It is here that the famous "Beefeaters" can be found. Conducting guided tours every thirty minutes, these ex-servicemen usually wear dark-blue Victorian garb, but on special occasions can be seen in the well-known gold and scarlet Tudor costumes. The Tower of London is the most perfectly preserved medieval fortress in the country, which was originally built by William the Conqueror as a watchtower from which he could keep an eye on the city, but evolved into a palace fortress by 1100, and from then onwards continued developing in importance and today is one of London's most famous landmarks

The Tower of London is one of the several fantastic London attractions that await your exploration. All you need to arrange your accommodation by taking a look at some the great London hotels and you're on your way.
